Early Years
My dad, Jim, started the company back in 1991. I was 5 at the time.
He had been working as a carpenter since high school and finally felt the time was right to start his own company. Some of my earliest memories were playing in the scrap pile at job sites, accompanying dad to look at new projects, and riding in the work trucks to pick up materials for the next job.
Many years I found boxes of nails under the Christmas tree!
I still remember spending hours down in the basement pounding those nails into a chunk of wood. As I got older, I started to work for dad in the summers. I can remember being in awe of how he “just knew” how to do everything.
During my junior year of high school, I decided that carpentry would be my career path.
I had been learning for years, but (with some help from mom) decided to go to Pennsylvania College of Technology studying Residential Construction and Construction Management. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I was able to learn the math and theory behind the building process without the pressure of the budget and deadline. This allowed me to hone the skills I already had and learn how to be more efficient. The physical skills and management knowledge have furthered my career quicker than I ever anticipated.
I graduated in the spring of 2006 and started my full-time job working for the company my dad started. I was able to put my skills to use as well as continue learning from some of the best carpenters I’ve had the privilege of working with.
What sets us apart?
So what sets us apart from other contractors?
One word, passion.
I truly love the type of work I do and it shows in our work. I am always striving to learn more each day and to further my craft. The true craftsman is a dying breed, but it goes beyond that.
Remodeling is so different than new construction and it takes a lot of careful planning and effort to achieve the desired outcome. Every project is unique and presents its own set of challenges. Through years of experience and background, we will work with you to visualize the entire project from its conception.
We have not only the skill to produce a beautiful finished product, but the knowledge to help avoid a lot of potential issues throughout the project. I and my crew will be onsite every day throughout the project, we will become like one of the family. You want to have someone you trust and can rely on to do the job correctly.
While I love my job and my career, my true passion is God and my family.
My wife Allyson and I have been blessed with two wonderful young boys, Jameson and Sawyer and are expecting a little girl in 2024.
I owe so much to my dad.
He taught me through example that you can achieve anything in this world with some hard work, but he was also always there for us as kids. I strive to be a positive example for my kids and a loving husband to my wife, just as my dad did for us.
